Dart League Rules
LaPlace Darts 2.0 – Reformed Rules
A) Format
• 4 Games - Singles 301
• 2 Games - Double Cricket
• 2 Games - Doubles 501
• 4 Games - Singles Cricket
• Final Game - 1 Game - 3 Man (601 or Super Cricket)
Corkers Choice is done to determine which game is played. Home team has the advantage of choosing either “Show one” or “See One”. This means Home Team’s Corker can either throw the first dart or let the Away Team throw theirs first. Closest to Bull wins and gets to choose the game played.
B) Line Ups
I. The playing line-ups must be completed blind by both team captains before the start of each individual event. In the event a captain looks at the opposing captain’s line-up before marking his/hers own line-up on the score sheet, the opposing captain has the option to change his line-up (blind) before the event.
II. Any registered player which is present prior to the beginning of a match is entitled to play in at least one (1) event, if they choose to do so, unless the team captain has sufficient reason to exclude that player.
If the team captain excludes a registered player meeting the specified requirements, his/her team will be subject to a forfeit to two (2) points per registered player not allowed to pay due to non-sufficient reason.
C) Emergency Players
A team which has 3 or less roster players to begin the night may pick up players to fill in, no roster dues will be due. Emergency players will only be eligible until a 4th roster player shows up. Emergency player must finish their game if it has already begun.
If there are 3 roster players present the Emergency player is not eligible for the 3 man game. Emergency player cannot be a current LaPlace Dart 2.0 member. A qualified player cannot be substituted as a B shooter.
This rule is designed to help prevent forfeits and not to gain a competitive advantage. Abuse will not be tolerated. Emergency players cannot be used the last 2 weeks of the season or during playoffs. Mark these players in the “New Player add on” on the bottom of the scorecard with (EP) behind their name.
D) League Requirements
I. LaPlace Darts welcomes all players. League members must adhere to all home team establishment age and patron rules. Bar rule SUPERSEDE all LaPlace Dart membership rules.
League is played on Thursday night, except when a recognized holiday falls on that day. Starting time is 7:30 PM sharp. Any match not underway within fifteen (15) minutes of the starting time is subject to forfeit unless the late team contacts the on-time captain, notifying him/her by 7:45 PM that the late team is on the way. and the on-time team agrees to wait. An event must start within five (5) minutes of the last event after both captains have completed the score sheet. Failure to begin will result in a forfeit of that game of the team not ready to begin. We appeal to your sportsmanship.
II. A FOOT FOUL will be allowed one warning. Second foul darts will not count. THROWING DARTS IN AN UNSPORTSMANLIKE MANNER WILL NOT BE TOLERATED E) Team Profile
I. A team shall consist of a minimum of four (4) players and a maximum of nine (9) players.
II. Team rosters may be changed or added to at any time during the first half of the season by written submission only. To add a player to a team roster, write the player’s name in the “New Player add on” on the bottom of the scorecard. When adding a player to the roster you must attach dues to the scorecard. (Dues are only for adding players to roster, not for EP’s.)
III. If a new player is added without providing the appropriate dues with the scorecard, their match points will not count.
IV. Each registered team is required to submit dues by week 3 of the season. Dues consist of a $25 bar fee per team and $15 per player on the team.
V. If a player wishes to switch teams mid-season, he/she has to be released by the current captain and cannot move divisions. This has to be done within the first 4 weeks.
F) Forfeits/Postponed Matches
I. A forfeit will be declared for the failure of an entire team to attend a scheduled match. Should even one (1) player attend, they must be allowed to play one (1) game in each event, if they so choose. If the player does not wish to play then a forfeit will be declared.
II. Ten (10) points will be awarded to the opposing team for forfeits.
III. Postponements shall be permitted only in the case of “act of God” or other mitigated circumstances.
IV. It’s the responsibility of the captain to contact a League Statistician immediately to obtain approval of postponement and then must notify the opposing team captain. If both team captains agree and a new date is set, they must notify the Statistician of said date. A postponed match must be played before the next scheduled match night.
G) Coaching/Conduct
I. The team captain is responsible for maintaining their team’s conduct.
II. Violent misconduct will result in a player being permanently expelled from LaPlace Darts 2.0.
III. Coaching may be done by any one (1) player of the current shooter’s choice. The coach chosen can not be the scorekeeper.
H) Tie Breakers
The tie breaker for playoff positions will be determined by head-to-head points of games played against each other in the regular season. If still tied, head-to-head total points against the remaining highest seed.
I) Scorekeeper Rules
The scorekeeper must sit or stand still, facing the board, when players are at the line. No leaning, hand gestures, talking (unless asked), hand movements, or headphones are allowed while a player is shooting. No phones use, vaping, or smoking unless players shooting agree to phone use for score calculations or agree on you being able to smoke/vape.
J) Scorecards
I. The home team is required to provide a scorecard and is also required to fill it out as needed for the night.
II. The home team’s captain is required to make sure the scorecard is correct, signed, a picture sent to LaPlace Dart 2.0 Facebook, and a hard copy to be placed in the official dropbox. Failure to send a picture of the scorecard to the Facebook page the night of WILL result in point deduction. Failure to turn in a hard copy within a week of play WILL result in point deduction. Failure to turn in the scorecard correctly WILL result in point deduction.
III. Captains and Co-Captains should be the only ones filling out the scorecard. If the captain or co-captain is not there for the night, the captain will need to appoint one member as a fill-in co-captain. They will be the only one allowed to write on the scorecard.
K) Playoff
I. A neutral scorekeeper will be used during City Cup match play.
II. During a playoff or City Cup Match, the first team to ten (10) points wins the match. If after the second single cricket is played and the score is tied (Home 7 - Away 7), the remaining single cricket games are discarded and the teams will move to 3 man.
III. The City Cup match location is based on the City Cup winner from the season before.
IV. A registered player must play ⅓ of the season to be eligible for Playoffs.
L) Achievements
Achievements can be obtained throughout the whole season. This includes playoffs and the City Cup. Captains and Co-Captains are the only ones allowed to fill out the Achievements on the scorecards.
